Favorite Things Friday- Lake Tahoe

With the mercury rising here in Lincoln, sitting on a sandy shoreline and a dip in the cool water is starting to sound pretty good. Lucky for us in Lincoln, beautiful Lake Tahoe is only a quick drive up the hill. With plenty of beaches and restaurants to chose from, a day trip to Tahoe is a great way to beat the heat.

Whenever we visit Tahoe, we are sure to stop at the kid’s favorite ice cream shop. Located in Incline Village on the North Shore, Susie Scoops is a must visit for a large assortment of locally made ice creams with a delicious flavor to suit any taste. Make sure to grab one of their homemade dipped waffle cones and enjoy some sun on the patio!

From there, there are always lots of options when it comes to enjoying time by the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe. Kings beach is a great option, but it can fill up quickly, so be sure to stake out a spot earlier in the day. Perfect for the family looking for a little more excitement at their day at the beach, Kings beach is a hot spot to rent paddle boards or enjoy parasailing or other activities on the water.

North Tahoe beach is another option and is great because of it’s nearby lots of places to grab a quick bite before heading out and the Safeway across the street. We like to stop by and fill up the cooler before we settle in for some time on the sand.

One of my favorite beaches in Tahoe is Sand Harbor beach. The views here are some of the best in the area, and beautiful rock formations and calm water make for a breathtaking spot to kick back and relax.

After a day in the sun, our favorite restaurant to visit is Rosie’s Cafe in Tahoe City. With lots of options, this local spot for homestyle cooking is sure to have something for everyone. Nothing hits the spot quite like one of their burgers!

One of my favorite things about living in Lincoln is the proximity to so many great places. There’s no need to spend too much time in the car or hop on a plane to get away. If you’re looking to get away there are so many great options for day trips this summer- I’d recommend a visit to Lake Tahoe be one of them!

Location, Location, Location!

With all the new innovations out there, there are so many ways to market your home. Whether it’s the more classic route or online, I try and get the best of both worlds. When it comes to getting your home out there, I’m always looking for the best avenues for maximum exposure as well as targeted marketing. With this in mind, I decided to try something new for some of my listings.
The area around these homes is really something that makes them special, so I jumped at the chance to have some drone videography taken. I thought that this would be a perfect way to not only highlight the home itself, but also the beautiful surrounding areas. For the home at 5181 Monteverde Drive, the rolling hills, scenic walking trails and praised Catta Verdera golf course, not to mention the breathtaking sunsets are major reasons why this is such a gorgeous and desirable area to live. At 2200 South Lakewood Drive, the peaceful and serene setting, nestled among the pine and oak trees makes for the perfect hideaway near the lake in Meadow Vista.

The amount of rain we have received this year is much needed, but on a cool, rainy and windy day like today, I start thinking about warm summer nights and the incredible sunsets we have in Lincoln. There are some great places to go and take them in. Up on the bluffs behind Coyote Pond Park is one of my favorite places and there are numerous other places to enjoy the colorful sunsets. I could name a quite a few more, but I don’t want to give my older Boy Scouts any date ideas! I know I’m not the only one that pulls out my phone and snaps a few pics of the sky, I’d love to see some of your shots.

Lincoln, CA is a great place to live!

I love living in Lincoln! We have a great location not far from the Bay Area and even closer to the mountains and Tahoe. Lincoln is growing but still maintains that “small town feel”. Recently, CBS 13 did one of their Road Tour pieces about Lincoln. We are in for some changes downtown. I think the whole project will make our quaint downtown area even more friendly and a good destination for people in our community to enjoy more restaurants and laid back shopping. Take a look at the video and it may answer some questions about what is going to happen in the future:

Hockey’s Back! Watch from your home in Lincoln, CA

So, a new NHL season gets underway tonight. I’m excited for my team to do well this year, they have been in the basement for the last few years and now have a lot of young, skilled players that will hopefully make the difference. They’ve also added some good players up front and on D. Goaltending is much better as well. Tomorrow night against the Flames-Go Oilers!
For those of you who are interested in playing locally, Roseville Skatetown has leagues for all levels from kids to adults. They even have “learn to play” classes for adults. Check it out if you are wanting to play the most exciting game on the planet! I’m also excited for the team that I have sponsored this year. “Le Team” plays Friday nights in Roseville and will be sporting some sweet Quebec Nordiques inspired jerseys with a small Realty World logo on the shoulder. Good luck boys!
For those who want to watch the big boys, NHL Centre Ice is available here through most TV services (even Roku) for about $150 a year and you can watch your favorite team. Every once in a while, there are blackouts for the Kings or Sharks games but a site called has all the games with various feeds (not always great quality). I had to resort to that during the Olympics due to the lack of hockey coverage by NBC.
Who says hockey players can’t skate? Check this out-Nathan Mackinnon in a race with Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Charles Hamelin. Blue line to blue line…I’d venture to guess that a female world class figure skater would beat them both. Anyway, impressive acceleration by Mackinnon and a good ad for CCM.
