One of my favorite things has always been hockey. There is something about the sound of sharp skates on a fresh sheet of ice, the sound of a puck off the crossbar (and into the net) and even the smell of the ice. When I moved to California, I was worried that there wouldn’t be an opportunity for myself or the boys to play, but I was pleasantly surprised that we have a dual sheet close by. Skatetown Ice Arena is located in Roseville just off the Riverside Exit. They have all the regular programs you would expect and are set up well for public skating. They frequently have theme nights (Star Wars, Disney Princess, etc.) and have a good collection of rental skates for those who need them. They have party rooms and a cafe. There are child and adult hockey programs, learn to skate, learn to play hockey and lots of other fun programs. They also have a decent pro shop and staff that is always friendly and helpful. This is probably the cleanest ice rink I have even been to (and I have been to a lot!). I would highly recommend taking the family for a fun public skate or even look into some of the programs for the kids. Who knows, your youngster could be the next Connor McDavid!
